Do you have to have an Instagram account for Threads?
Yes, you’ll need an Instagram account to join Threads. That’s because it creates your Threads profile using your Instagram profile information. Threads was built by the Instagram team as a kind of text-based sister app. When you set up a Threads account, it will be linked to via your Instagram account.
When will Threads have a desktop version?
A desktop version of Threads is now available at threads.net. The web app was launched in August 2023, a month after the mobile app launched, and is available to everyone.
Can you see your likes on Threads?
Yes, you can see all of the threads that you have previously liked on the Threads app through your settings. Here’s a step-by-step to explain how:
Step 1: Click on your profile picture or icon in the bottom right-hand side of your screen. This will take you to your profile.
Step 2: Tap the settings icon (two horizontal lines, with the top line slightly longer than the bottom line) to go to your settings.
Step 3: Tap ‘your likes’. You should now be able to see all of your likes.

As of January 2024, Threads has 160 million users. The app reached 100 million users in just 4 days and 6 hours.
User numbers are likely to keep increasing quickly. It was only launched in the EU on December 14th 2023, 5 months after its launch in the US and UK.
Does Threads show who viewed your profile?
No. Threads currently doesn’t allow users to see who viewed your profile. This also means that other Threads users won’t know if you have visited their profiles. The only way to know if another account has seen your content is if they have interacted with it by way of liking it, replying to it, reposting it, or quoting it.
If you wish to limit the visibility of your threads and your threads profile, you can switch your profile to private in your settings. This way, only Threads accounts that you accept can follow you and see your threads posts, as well as who you follow or who follows you.

How do you get verified on Threads?
